Bill Cosby: Fall of an American icon (BBC)                                                                                                                                                    Fascinating story exploring the rape allegations against the man once known as “America’s dad” and the decade of silence till he finally faced criminal trial and his reputation in Hollywood was tarnished.  Narrated by Thandiwe Newton the documentary features interviews with journalists, Hollywood actors as well as victims of sexual assault. 

Produced before the “Me too” movement, the access and investigation required to put together the story were incredibly challenging.  We filmed in LA and Philadelphia.

Inside the Gangsters’ code: The 18th Street (Discovery)​

Ex-mafia boss Lou Ferrante meets “18th Street” gangsters inside prison and on the streets of El Salvador to learn how their deadly rivalry with the MS-13 is devastating the country.  Nominated for a Grierson Award, this episode is part of a series looking at the inner gang cultures around the world.                                                                                                                                                                              Secured access to the criminal gang and to a maximum security prison where most of the documentary was filmed.  Produced story lines, conducted interviews in Spanish and assisted Director filming in El Salvador. 

Joanna Lumley’s Hidden Caribbean (ITV)

Epic two- part series following British actress and national treasure Joanna Lumley on her journey across Cuba and Haiti.  Joanna goes off the beaten path to connect with locals and uncover the hidden gems in two of the most enigmatic countries of the Caribbean.                                                                                                                                                                                            Forward planning, scripting, story producing, managing crews in Cuba and Haiti as well as assisting Director on shoots. 

DOPE (Netflix)                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Original series offering a sobering look at the war on drug sand its effects on the people involved. Filmed from the perspectives of dealers, users and law enforcement, it covers various topics including the opioids epidemic and the ongoing battle at the U.S.A-Mexico border.

Directed an episode following the cocaine production chain from the Colombian coca fields to the streets of Madrid. Produced films about meth trafficking between Arizona and Mexico as well as a film about the Caribbean “cocaine corridor” between Miami, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

ATHINA (79′)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Feature length documentary following a handful of protagonists while drawing an intimate portrait of the Greek capital at a time of social crisis.  The film tells the story of people looking for something that was taken away from them: refugees looking for a home, young people looking for a future, rebels looking for a cause, and a country looking to get its dignity back.

Unclickable (74′)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Director Babis Makridis follows a fraud operation in an undisclosed location.  A former tech executive and his team of software developers demonstrate how to steal advertising money with the silent approval of Google and Facebook. Nominated within the International competition at the Thessaloniki docFest the documentary asks: is tech destroying democracy?                   

Assisted with the production and sourcing of archive material.  

Hunting Pablo Escobar (National Geographic)                                                                                                                                                                Before the popular series “Narcos” was even conceived, this drama-documentary recounts he manhunt and killing of the greatest drug dealer that ever was: Pablo Escobar. 

Gained exclusive access to Escobar’s sister,  set up filming with DEA agents, Colombia’s Special Forces and interview with the ex-president of Colombia.  Filming in Medellin and Bogota.

Are they fascists next door? (BBC)                                                                                                                                                                                  Shot on the eve of the 2017 French presidential elections, when Emmanuel Macron won presidency over Marine Le Pen, the film explores why the far-right is becoming so popular amongst millennials in France. 

Directed and wrote this documentary where we meet National Front supporters, anarchists and young people caught in between the political game at a crucial time in French history.      

Lost Kingdom of Central America (BBC4)                                                                                                                                                                   Archeologist Jago Cooper leads this fascinating look at the ancient civilizations of Costa Rica. The documentary reveals cultures that mastered gold and jade and crafted some of the world’s most puzzling mysteries.

Medicine Men Go Wild: “Jungle Tripping” (C4 & Discovery)                                                                                                                                                Twin doctors Chris and Xand immerse themselves within the rainforest of Peru to live with the Asháninka indigenous people. They learn about healing and Shamanistic beliefs and experience Ayahuasca, a powerful hallucinogenic used across centuries for spiritual, social and medicinal purposes. 

The set up, filming and story producing was incredibly challenging both physically and logistically.  I lived with the tribal community in the remote jungle for the duration of the production. 

Criminal Planet: The Golden Meth Triangle  (VICE & Channel4)                                                                                                                               A 45’ episode looking at how Thailand is used as a narcotics superhighway, fueling Australia’s meth epidemic and Myanmar’s political instability.  Part of a series on organised crime.  

Directed presenter and multiple crews as well as managed criminal access with local fixers.  Organised security protocol, set up filming in three different countries and edit produced.
