Vanessa is a Director & Producer specialising in observational documentaries.

She has learned the craft working for the British television industry over the last 20 years; directing and producing for all major streamers and broadcasters, including the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Discovery, MTV, National Geographic, VICE and Netflix. Her expertise extends to corporate films and advertising.  She directed Virtual Reality documentaries for UNICEF and the Rotary Foundation, produced TV commercials for Nokia, Wella and Novartis as well as produced branded films for DuPont and Philip Morris.

Vanessa has extensive international filming experience. Her projects have taken her to remote, and so-called ‘hostile environments’ around the globe.   She has filmed  gang members inside prison in El Salvador, gained access to members of drug Cartels in Mexico and Colombia; filmed children scavenging food on Cambodia’s biggest landfill, directed a film about the fight against polio in rural Kenya as well as produced a biopic on the fall of Bill Cosby in Hollywood.

With solid editorial and journalistic skills, she is experienced setting-up complex shoots and negotiating difficult access.  Vanessa has good visual instincts, films her own material and has experience editing.  She’s equally comfortable collaborating with crews, directing multiple cameras or working along film editors.

Vanessa studied social Anthropology and Media & Communications.  She speaks French, Spanish, and Greek fluently.

Currently, Vanessa is working on a feature length project as well as developing a series about music around Europe.
